Kevin Hines On Surviving and Thriving After a Suicide Attempt

Apr 19, 2023
44:42

At 19 years of age, two years after he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, Kevin Hines  attempted to take his own life by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. Thousands of people have tragically lost their life since the bridge was erected in 1937, he is now one of only 36 people who’ve survived that 220-foot jump. In the summer of 2013, he released his bestselling memoir titled Cracked Not Broken, Surviving and Thriving After A Suicide Attempt. His story was featured in the 2006 film The Bridge by the film director and producer Eric Steel. He is currently producing a documentary entitled Suicide: The Ripple Effect. As a multi-award-winning filmmaker, bestselling author, and an award-winning global suicide prevention and mental health advocate, he is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and a reminder for us to love the life we have.
