As a child, she played in the hills of Kentucky, where her ancestors had lived for three hundred years.
In 2017, author, and nurse, Shawna Kay Rodenberg, wrote an article about Eastern Kentucky that caught the attention of a CBS news anchor, who was eager to do a piece on Shawna against the backdrop of Trump signage and “signs of blight.”
