During the covid-19 pandemic, one in three white women have reported being the victims of domestic violence, and the numbers jump to a horrifying 50% or higher for those in marginalized populations. The truth is, quarantine and safer-at-home orders have put some of our most vulnerable populations in even more danger by trapping them with no way to escape their abuser.
Why have we left these victims to fend for themselves in volatile situations, made even worse by economic stressors, pressures of job loss, and trying to home-school their kids? And what can victims do during the Coronavirus pandemic to stay safe and reach out for help without making their situation worse?
