Real Friendship - Be Real - Steven Gibbs | Stonecreek Church
DO YOU HAVE FRIENDS?
What work do you need to do to develop meaningful relationships? This past Sunday, Pastor Steven Gibbs taught us the necessity of having deep, meaningful friendships. Scripture tells us that friendship begins when we take off the masks that we wear in our everyday lives. Are you willing to be real with the people in your life? Are you ready to get in the trenches with the community that God has provided for you? You might just find that, in the mess, there is beauty.
“Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.”
Romans 12:9-13
“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.”
Romans 12:14-15
“The physical presence of other Christians is a source of incomparable joy and strength to the believer.” - Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Real Friends Create Value
“Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle.”
Romans 12:9-10 (MSG)
