He criticizes the existing political systems for being led by individuals who lack true knowledge and are instead driven by opinion and ambition. Socrates also introduces the Allegory of the Ship to illustrate the difference between a true philosopher and those who merely claim to know, emphasizing that philosophers are often misunderstood and undervalued in society.
