This podcast covers over 1000 years of relationships between varius italian powers (Lombards, the Papacy, the Normans, Venice and others) with the medieval Roman empire, aka the Byzantine empire.

I am joined by my favourite podcaster bar none, Robin Pierson himself, the great host of "The history of Byzantium", probably the podcast that influenced me the most in creating "Storia d'Italia". I highly suggest anyone to give it a listen, even if byzantine history is not your thing.
