The Bible is not just a book full of promises, rules or doctrines. Fundamentally, it is the true story of God, the universe, and humanity. Like a great drama, it proceeds through several acts, with God as the author and director of the drama, and indeed the main character who walks onto the stage. The Bible is the drama of God’s mission, God’s grand purpose to reconcile all creation, and people from all nations, to himself – promised through Israel, accomplished by Christ, completed in the new creation. Let’s get our heads around it as a whole!
