Born and raised in San Francisco, Oliver ‘Ali’ Nejad is a mainstay in the world of televised poker, breaking onto the scene in 2005 as the host of the National Heads-Up Poker Championship. His poker career started while in college at UC Berkeley. In 1998 he dropped out of college to pursue poker full time, achieving great success and becoming a renowned high-limit cash game player. Over the course of his career, Ali has become one of the most recognizable voices in poker. He has acted as a commentator or correspondent for Poker After Dark, the Heads-Up Championship, Pro-Am Poker Equalizer, and many other shows. Ali is currently part of GGPoker as the GGTeam’s Media Ambassador and will continue to share his love of poker and his talent in broadcasting.
