What did you learn?
- A lot of optimism about the second half.
- A lot of talk about continued investment in tech
- Seems to be the consensus that rates are close to the bottom.
- Everyone reminding everyone that the cycle is just returning to normal
What were the key themes of the conferences?
- Given it’s a bank in conference, lots of conversations about M&A. A few things that I saw
- Lots and lots and lots of strategies better looking to do add-ons over the next 6-18 months. If you’re a $2M-$15m ebitda business there are lots of prospective buyers.
- Private equity firms are being cautious about what day B deploy. Those that are early in their investment cycle or invested heavily, those that are later stage are pulling back given the current rate environment.
- Resetting expectations but Optimism nonetheless
- Impact of next gen tech - ai and autonomous (when not if)
- Driving insights to customers
- Still an appetite for M&A
