The idea for these inflatable figures came from Peter Minshaw, a renowned Caribbean artist, who wanted to incorporate the vibrant and lively carnival arts tradition into the 1996 Atlanta Olympics opening ceremonies. He collaborated with Doron Gazite, an expert in inflatables, to bring his vision to life. The result was a tall, bipedal inflatable figure that danced joyfully, captivating audiences. However, Gazite patented the invention without informing Minshaw, causing a dispute over the ownership of the idea.
