In response to a FOIA request, the CDC released documents about their Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR)… but why are nearly half of the pages redacted?

“The CDC does not want the public to see the details of the deliberation that produced their social media and other propaganda to advertise the MMWR study,” tweeted Dr. Jay Bhattacharya. “Nearly all of that is redacted in the FOIA dump.”

Dr. Jay Bhattacharya is a Professor of Medicine at Stanford University. He is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economics Research, a senior fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, and at the Stanford Freeman Spogli Institute. His research focuses on the economics of health care around the world with a particular emphasis on the health and well-being of vulnerable populations.
