About the hosts

The hosts of the podcast, Shalma and Dan, provide background information about themselves. Shalma, the first physicist in her family, is pursuing her PhD in physics at NYU, specifically in the Department of Cosmology and Particle Physics. Dan, on the other hand, grew up in rural Minnesota and discovered his passion for physics in college. He now teaches astronomy and astrophysics at the University of Chicago and is a staff scientist at the Fermi National Accelerator Lab. They both met during Shalma's undergraduate years at the University of Chicago, where Dan was her research and thesis advisor.
