Deep dives
Redefining Feminism: From Womanism to Feminine Values
This exploration delves into redefining feminism, distinguishing it from a historical woman's movement termed Womanism. The new feminism emphasizes values associated with femininity rather than focusing solely on women, highlighting overlooked aspects of femininity. It aligns with a broader perspective on human experience, examining the collective psyche's influence on cultural consciousness.
Masculine and Feminine Traits: Distinctions and Associations
The discussion analyzes distinct traits correlated with masculinity and femininity, as identified in tools like the BSRI and neurochemical studies. It presents masculine traits such as assertiveness and competitiveness, contrasting them with feminine traits like tenderness and compassion. The exploration extends to the societal landscape, revealing an imbalance towards masculine values.
The Revaluation of Feminine Values: Implications for Society
The episode delves into the consequences of womanism aligning with masculine values, perpetuating a masculinist societal structure. It points out the mental health crisis and ecological implications stemming from devaluing feminine traits. The call for a revaluation of feminine values mirrors a Nietzschean reevaluation of societal norms, envisioning a paradigm shift towards valuing both feminine and masculine principles equally.
In this episode we explore a potential Nietzschean revaluation of all values in the form of a distinction. If we separate the ideas of femininity and masculinity from females and males, we are left with two possible revaluations. There is the fight over the respective value of men and women in society; this is the classical struggle of historical Feminism. In this episode we are going to call this the Womanist struggle. There is another, deeper, struggle that has yet to be wrestled with on a substantial level: the distinction between the values of masculinity and of femininity. With that distinction in mind we can form a distinction between Masculinism and Feminism. Masculinism is the triumph of Masculine values in society. Feminism is the triumph of Feminine values in society. Seen through this lens, Womanism (the historical movement we usually call Feminism) is in fact a Masculinist movement. ____________________ ⭐ Support the channel (thank you!) ▶ Patreon: https://patreon.com/thelivingphilosophy ▶ Ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/thelivingphilosophy ________________
