An Interview with Professor Russell Napier: Understanding global monetary systems

This episode we have the pleasure of interviewing Professor Russell Napier, an independent financial market strategist, researcher and author specialising in issues impacting global equity markets.

Amongst a long list of accolades, Russell co-founded ERIC, an online investment research platform and The Library of Mistakes, a non-profit library specialising in business and finance history.

Russell also hosts his own podcast, and has written two books, The Birth of the Age of Debt and The Anatomy of the Bear.

Today he joins us to talk about global monetary systems. A financial catch-all term that describes the mechanisms by which countries trade with and invest in other countries.

We currently live in a world in which the vast majority of trade is denominated in dollars and a vast amount of these goods come from China and Professor Napier will speak to some of the pressures this system places on the global economy and highlights the risks investors should be aware of…
