Former Suns front office member and current do-everything host for SiriusXM and Meadowlark Media, Amin Elhassan joins Vince Goodwill on the Good Word with Goodwill podcast to talk about everything that happened over the weekend in the NBA and preview the upcoming play-in games.
The guys kick off the show with a discussion about Rudy Gobert punching teammate Kyle Anderson during Sunday’s game and how it could end up leading the Timberwolves to trade Karl Anthony-Towns this offseason, as strange as that sounds.
They then move on to another team that has missed expectations by a lot this season: The Dallas Mavericks. They assign blame for Dallas’ repeated roster-building missteps and Vince has a wild idea on how the team should move forward with (or without?) Luka Doncic.
With the news of the Rockets and Pistons both moving on from black head coaches (Stephen Silas & Dwane Casey), Vince and Amin talk about the bad position those guys were put into and talk about the differences in opportunities between black and white head coaches in the NBA.
Finally, we get to the play-in games. There are teams on the verge of a potential rebuild playing for the chance to make the playoffs, which is weird, but Amin is more interested in the teams that could cause some real havoc in the playoffs (assuming they make it out of the play-in), namely the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat.
