In today’s episode, Becket takes a look at a New York Times article on J-Lo and Ben Affleck. The writer of the article is aghast that Jennifer Lopez took Ben Affleck’s last name. Becket explores the feminist underpinnings of the op-ed and counters it with a biblical foundation, particularly in Ephesians chapter 5. Even though Jennifer Lopez now calls herself Mrs. Affleck, the writer keeps referring to her as Ms. Affleck and castigates her for taking Ben’s name. We see how pitting women against men is destructive to marriage, the family, and society at large.
