Hooded figures appearing in the dead of night, sinister fiddle-playing that lures the unsuspecting into otherworldly gatherings, and faceless apparitions warning trespassers—Appalachia is alive with spirits, cryptids, and things that go bump (or boom) in the night.

Is the devil truly a lurking menace, or is he simply the misunderstood guardian of these ancient lands? Does he deserve the nickname 'ole horny?
