I'll Have Another with Lindsey Hein Podcast Episode 238: Vanessa Fraser
Vanessa Fraser runs with the Bowerman Track Club and recently made headlines when she came one second from Shalane Flanagan’s indoor 5K record at the BU Invitational in a time of 14:48.
She joined Bowerman in the summer of 2018. In her first full year as a professional, she represented the US at the World Cross Country Championships and at the Team Europe vs Team USA Match. She also set personal bests at 3000m and 5000m.
It’s safe to say 2020 was off to a great start and she is just getting started in her Pro career!
Vanessa got into running through Girls on the Run when she was in elementary school and went on to run for Stanford – she helped the Stanford team to two runner-up finishes in the DMR and capped college career by contributing to Stanford’s third place finish at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track Championships and by setting the school record for 5,000m in Huesden, Belgium (15:09).
Note- Vanessa an I recorded this interview about 4 weeks ago, so it was before everything got canceled and at the time the Olympic trials and the Olympics had not yet been postponed.
