Shavonne Hasfal-McIntosh - Diversity and Inclusion, lessons learned working in tech

In this episode, I had the pleasure of talking to a friend and old colleague  Shav Hasfal McIntosh. We worked together at Shopify and I had the privilege of watching Shav build Shopify’s Diversity and Belonging practice and department. Shav has since moved on to be the Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Wealthsimple, another dynamo Canadian tech company. She is a force for radical change and I’m honoured to know her and to share with this episode with you all. Shav has an incredible perspective on EDI and breaks down this nuanced topic with simplicity and without judgment. Together we discuss that EDI takes time and resources, the importance of product inclusion and how to build EDI strategies that are true and authentic that don’t tokenize communities.
