Evolving with Gratitude Episode 25 - I Point to You with Guest Neil Gupta
Dr. Neil Gupta is all about creating learning communities where everyone feels safe, welcomed, and invited. And, in this episode, you will be havin' all the feels hearing Neil share the critical role that gratitude plays in learning communities as well as his personal life.
The "I Point to You" practice that Neil shares in this episode is a practice that was brought into his district by Assistant Superintendant Angie Adrean who was inspired after reading "WOLFPACK: How to Come Together, Unleash Our Power, and Change the Game" by Abby Wambach.
"If you watch footage of any of those goals, you’ll see that the moment after I score, I begin to point. I point to the teammate who assisted. I point to the defender who protected us. I point to the midfielder who ran tirelessly. I point to the coach who dreamed up this play. I point to the bench player who willed this moment into existence.
I’ve never scored a goal in my life without getting a pass from someone else. Every goal I’ve ever scored belonged to my entire team. When you score, you better start pointing."

Dr. Neil Gupta serves as the Director of Secondary Education for Worthington Schools in Columbus, Ohio. With over 16 years of experience as a district administrator in rural and suburban settings, he has a passion for leadership, building culture, and coaching leaders. Neil presents at the state and national level, and consults building and district leaders in building collaborative teams for student learning. Dr. Gupta also serves as an Associate with Creative Leadership Solutions.
