Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse came out last week and has many LGBTQ influencers and news outlets buzzing about the inclusion of a “Protect Trans Kids” flag in the bedroom of one of the heroes, as well as more ‘evidence’ that Gwen Stacy aka Ghost-Spider’s story is meant to be understood as a metaphor for trans people. Are they making things up, or is there clearly some kind of agenda here? Let’s get into it.
