236 - Jon Ritner ”Hollywood, food trucks and irritation”
On today's episode, Alan chats with Jon Ritner, pastor from Hollywood and city advocate about how to love our neighbors right now and why we should be irritating sometimes.
About Jon
Jon served a “mega church” in Williamsburg, Virginia for 10 years before moving to Brussels, Belgium to help plant “micro churches.” Now Jon is applying the lessons he learned about adapting the church to post-Christendom back in America as part of a local faith community in LA.
Jon serves as Lead Pastor of Ecclesia Hollywood, a community of artists and creatives who long for new ways to demonstrate God’s Kingdom in the city of Hollywood as well as new ways to contextualize good news in the industry of Hollywood. Jon founded Forge Hollywood, a missional training organization that equips churches and individual believers to engage as missionaries in the places they are already doing life.
Jon also serves as Vice Chair of Communitas’ Board of Directors. Jon is a graduate of The College of William and Mary in Virginia (B.S. 1997) and Trinity International University (M.Div. 2002).
