#007. Kraig Kempt: alpine ski racer and coach, amputee, ultimate frisbee national champion, entrepreneur, 4th generation Bozemanite
Kraig Kempt was described in 2012 in a Bozeman Daily Chronicle article as “a hulking athlete of a man and lifelong skier.” That’s for sure. Kraig has been a highly successful ski racer, an alpine ski racing coach and director for 33 years in Bozeman and beyond, an ultimate frisbee national champion, and an entrepreneur. In 2009, Kraig experienced a traumatic skiing accident, resulting in amputation of his leg nearly three years after. He has been rebuilding his life and lifestyle since then.
