Today I’d like to talk about two terms that arose out of the historical context of 17th-century Particular Baptist life. The first word is “antipaedobaptist” and the second is “baptist”. These words and related ones such as paedobaptist and paedobaptism seem to have first appeared in the English language around the 1640s as part of the debate over the question of the subjects of baptism.
