He earned his master's degree and doctorate from the Southern Methodist University Theological Seminary and has since become a prominent figure in the Messianic Jewish movement.

The Tree of Life Version (TLV) is a modern English translation of the Bible designed to reflect the Jewish roots and context of the Scriptures. While it aims to provide a clear and accurate representation of the original Hebrew and Greek texts, the TLV also preserves the Jewish cultural and linguistic elements found within the Bible. However, not everyone shares the same enthusiasm for this unique translation.

Mark Ward, a Bible scholar and TLV critic, has come on Remnant and expressed reservations about the TLV. He questions the extensive use of transliterated Hebrew terms in the translation and raises concerns about its intelligibility for a broader audience.
