In this video, we had the chance to chat with Jay, the CEO of Genopets, a blockchain-based gaming platform that combines the concept of NFTs and gaming. Jay shared with us his experience in the space, starting as one of the first employees at EOS, a layer 1 protocol that was popular then.   

He worked on the marketing side, building community, and it was his first foray into web 3 community building. 

He also talked about how he met his co-founders, Albert and Ben, and how they developed the idea of Genopets, which started as a health data marketplace that would make an NFT out of your health data and allow individuals to earn passive income when researchers utilized their data in the aggregate for studies.   

However, the idea didn't pan out, so they pivoted to create a pet-based game that motivates people to take care of their health by taking care of their virtual pets.   

Jay also discussed the company's plans, including adding more motion inputs to the game and expanding to other experiences in the gaming industry.   T
