The main characters, William and Emily, flowed as they were expected to through the story. Paoli, however, became a real pain. He refused to stay in the original idea I had for him, and continued to shift into a very different character than I meant him to be. Eventually, I gave up the fight and allowed him to develop as he was determined to.The next book in the series, Shadow Blood, is Paoli's story.
