Account Verification through the Inform Consumers Act
The Inform Consumers Act is a new federal law in the United States that requires Amazon and high volume third party sellers to verify their accounts. Sellers will need to provide specific information about their business, even if it has already been provided during account setup. While some sellers may receive a flag about potential deactivation, as long as they complete the verification process, their account health should not be affected. Sellers who have been active for at least a year and have earned over $5,000 in gross revenue or sold 200 or more products will qualify under this act.
The SEOC Pilot Program
The SEOC (Ships and Own Container) pilot program is being introduced by Amazon to allow brand partners to ship customer orders in their own brand packaging without added Amazon materials. This program provides a more customized customer experience while reducing the environmental impact. In addition to enhanced branding, Amazon offers reduced FBA fees for participating brands. Account managers recommend that brand partners consult with their Amazon representatives to determine if their products qualify for SEOC and to assess the potential cost savings and impact on profitability.
