Joscelin Yeo started swimming professionally at the tender age of 11, and competed in her first Olympics, representing her home country Singapore, at 13.
Despite so much success, at the peak of her career, she was secretly battling with a mental health crisis. (Just a heads up, this episode contains mention of self harm.)
In this episode we discuss how she struggled with media attention throughout her formative years, how she was chased by photographers from pool to pool, and how she eventually found the tools to cope with both external and internal pressures. Understanding her limiting beliefs and getting a handle on her self doubt has been a big part of her growth story.
These days, Joscelin is a mum of four and is co-founder of Into The Wild, which takes kids on wilderness adventures to build grit and resilience.
Thank you so much Joscelin for opening up and being so honest with your remarkable story.
