I hate to say, “See, I told you so,” but here we are, worse off with Speaker Johnson than even with McCarthy. I delve into the depth and breadth of the budget betrayal and how it demonstrates that nothing has changed within the party. Nothing has changed not just since the change in speaker but since the supposed Trump revolution in 2016. It’s all an optical illusion. The party is worse than it has ever been, and we will never advance our cause in this party. We’re also joined by Chip Roy (R-Texas), who warns that Republicans’ unwillingness to fight now will not change at the next deadline. He plans to fight the budget bill in the Rules Committee, but does he have enough support? Finally, as federal Republicans betray us, it’s not like the red states are any better.
