In this episode, I sit down with my friend Fon Walters, Co-Founder of Proof Vitality, and talk shop about all things supplements.

Unfortunately, the supplements market is saturated with cheap, ineffective products containing toxic fillers and generic, sometimes contaminated ingredients lacking the clinical science needed to validate their safety, purity, or efficacy..

Proof Vitality’s origins trace back to 2003 when Fon Walters discovered herbology through a radio show. Intrigued by the potential health benefits of natural ingredients, he began taking herbs and conducting extensive research. By 2006, he had left his job and started working at the flagship Whole Foods Market in Austin, Texas, learning from leading figures in the supplement industry.

Throughout his journey, he became fascinated by unique ingredients that could enhance longevity, healthspan, mental and physical performance, sexual health, and beauty from within. He was particularly drawn to medicinal plants validated by rigorous clinical research and revered by our ancestors for their health benefits, such as ac-11®, AstaReal®, LJ100®, and Pycnogenol®. This ignited his curiosity about the underutilization of such ingredients by supplement brands.

In 2013, Fon co-founded a couple of supplement companies and consulted for others, always insisting on top-tier, evidence-based ingredients. However, the compromise posed by generic ingredients or ineffective dosages often undermined the integrity and effectiveness of the products they aimed to create. He knew he needed a better approach.
