TW: Sexual assault & campus assault, religious shame, purity culture, vaginismus, sexual violence, shame

If you’re here from Tik Tok, welcome! Thank you so much for all of the love! Our episodes normally release Fridays at 6AM PST on ALL streaming platforms. If you’re looking for more religion/deconstruction episodes, episodes 5, 9, 10, 11, 21, 24, 36 & 44 all center on religion & religious trauma/deconstruction! Feel free to follow our podcast Tik Tok too @mindfulmindspodcast !!

This bonus collab episode is a special one! I had the honor of going onto the Dear Poly podcast (@dearpolypodcast) hosted by my dear friend, Phillip (they/them). I had the honor of having Phillip on my podcast a few weeks back for episode 43 to talk about polyamory. We ended up shifting and talking a TON about religion and deconstruction! So, we decided to partner up again and create this episode, which centers on religious shame for Dear Poly’s shame series!

I share my personal experience with shame and how it greatly impacted my healing process and trauma journey. We talk about everything from physical symptoms of trauma, vaginismus, inner child work, and purity culture long-term damage!

This episode is a bonus episode in addition to my normal schedule and is also available on Dear Poly’s streaming platforms! You can listen to Dear Poly on all streaming platforms with new episodes dropping Sunday at midnight! If you want to learn more from Phillip or have questions about polyamory, please check out their podcast or reach out anonymously via https://www.dearpolypodcast.com or via DMs! The Dear Poly podcast is intended to answer your questions and explore the curiosity surrounding ethical non-monogamy!

Lastly, Phillip and I also chat about two books that we’ve found helpful in our healing journeys. The first is “The Body Keeps Score,” by Bessel Van Der Kolk - which I did a 3 part series on in my podcast last November. The second is, “Know My Name,” by Channel Miller, which centers on sexual assault and specifically campus assault.
