Jess Fox: An Olympian's Guide to Handling Pressure | #294
This week on Dyl & Friends, we’re joined by one of Australia’s greatest Olympians, Jess Fox.
We headed out to Penrith and the Whitewater Centre to chat with Jess in the boat shed on her home turf. Blood cool experience thanks to our friends at RedBull.
In this ep, we cover it all. From how Jess found her way into one of the world’s most niche sports, to what drives her after more than a decade at the top, and her unique relationship with her mum, Myriam, who also happens to be her coach.
A 3x Olympic medallist, with bronze in London, silver in Rio and gold in Tokyo & Paris, Jess has carved out one of the most decorated careers in canoe slalom history. But her story goes far beyond the medals. It’s about resilience, pressure, persistence, and learning to master the mental game in a sport defined by chaos.
Jess shares what it’s really like competing at four Olympics, how she stays composed under pressure, and what life looks like on and off the water.
HUUUGE thank you to Jess for taking the time to chat & for having us at her training facility in Penrith. Enjoy xx
