

Evening Edition: Texas Dems Flee State To Avoid Redistricting Vote
Dozens of Texas House Democrats have fled the state in an attempt to avoid or prevent a vote in the state legislature that would push forward a GOP redistricting effort. Redrawing the congressional maps in Texas is a President Trump-led effort to net Republicans up to five new US House seats in next year’s midterm elections. Republican Gov. Greg Abbott has threatened to arrest and expel the House Democrats if they do not return by today.
FOX’s Eben Brown speaks with Hans A. von Spakovsky, Manager of Election Law Reform Initiative and Senior Legal Fellow at the Heritage Foundation, who says the Governor and the Texas Attorney General can take action to force their return to finalize the vote.
