In order for us to raise our awareness to be one with God, we need a lot of help, and Jesus is a symbol of that help. He completed his part completely and accepted the Atonement for himself. He is the first miracle, the last miracle, and all the miracles in between. Therefore, it's good for us to call on him and trust that he got us covered in the end despite what we think of ourselves right now.
