We’re not talking about the kind of fear that is “rational”, a healthy response to physical danger. We’re talking about “irrational fear” the emotional reaction in the body/mind that is triggered by past memories, or the fear of a potential future that grips us and renders us incapable of thinking, acting or making responsible choices in the moment.

We react versus respond when we’re in the emotional grip of what we believe to be “real”, which is actually an illusion of the mind. What is the alternative to a “fight, flight or freeze” reaction when fear takes over?
