If your company’s culture is solely HR’s responsibility, it's broken.
In this episode of HR, We Have A Problem, host Kim Seals tackles the controversy surrounding HR’s role in setting an organization’s culture.
Joining her in the HR Huddle is the Chief People Officer at SmartRecruiters, Lisa Sterling who believes Human Resources is actually the biggest hindrance to healthy and authentic culture at most companies.
Sterling has helped take two companies public in the last three years and argues that in order to become a talent magnet, organizations need to:
- Stop trying to lure employees back to the office
- Offer less gym memberships and more freedom of wellness options
- Admit leadership has unconscious biases before attempting to fix it
- Expand parental leave benefits to include caretaking and family addiction
- Allow employees to choose student loan repayments instead of 401k contributions
- Be radically transparent with workers during an IPO
