August 22nd, 2024: Gaza Deal Collapse, Moscow Drone Assault, & ‘Queering’ America’s Nukes

Meanwhile, senior U.S. officials accuse the Israeli prime minister of making “maximalist statements” that are “not constructive” to securing a ceasefire.

• Later, Ukraine launched what Russian officials are calling one of the biggest drone strikes on Moscow since the war began, deploying at least eleven unmanned aerial vehicles against the capital.

• Plus, a North Korean soldier defected to South Korea earlier this week by walking across the heavily fortified border. This incident adds to a series of similar defections, possibly indicating broader unrest within the hermit kingdom.

• And in today's Back of the Brief, the latest in DEI insanity: a recent hire at the nuclear security wing of the Department of Energy has previously advocated for eradicating white supremacy in the nuclear field and, quote, "queering nuclear weapons."
