Dr. Stuart McGill is a professor emeritus, at the University of Waterloo, where he was a professor for 32 years. His laboratory and experimental research clinic investigated issues related to the causal mechanisms of back pain, how to rehabilitate back-pained people, and enhance injury resilience and performance. This produced over 240 peer-reviewed scientific journal papers, and many international awards, and has mentored over 40 graduate students during this scientific journey. Professor Stuart McGill has dedicated 32 years to investigating how the spine works, the mechanisms of pain, and proven ways to eliminate pain and restore pain-free activity. Prof. McGill believes the key to pain-free activity is to assess the pain mechanism and employ a matched approach. In today's episode, we dive into the first aspect of Stu's assessment, the interview. This takes place in his living room and as you will hear, everything is important.
