Dr. Yossi Sheffi is the Elisha Gray II Prof. of Engineering Systems at MIT, where he serves as Director of the Center for Transportation and Logistics (CTL). He is an expert in systems optimization, risk analysis and supply chain management. Under his leadership, CTL launched many new educational, research, and industry/ government outreach programs, leading to substantial growth.
Dr. Sheffi was recognized in numerous ways in academic and industry forums and was on the cover of Purchasing Magazine and Transportation and Distribution Magazine. He is also an active entrepreneur, having founded five successful companies, and a sought-after speaker in corporate and professional events.
He is the author of several best selling, award winning books, including "The Resilient Enterprise" (MIT Press, 2005)," Urban Transportation Networks" (Prentice Hall, 1985), "Logistics Clusters" (MIT Press, 2012), and "The Power of Resilience" (MIT, 2015).
His recent book "The New (Ab)Normal: Reshaping Business and Supply Chain Strategy Beyond Covid-19" explains how companies grappled with the chaos of the Covid-19 pandemic and how they can survive and thrive as the crisis subsides.
