Deep dives
Collaboration with Leonardo: Earth Magic Pen
The first product collaboration I did was with Leonardo. We created a pen called Earth Magic using a Jonathan Brooks resin. The material had variations, so we worked together to reduce inconsistencies and create a more consistent look. We decided to make 111 units, and to my surprise, the pens sold out in just 30 seconds. This positive experience inspired me to do more collaborations.
Collaboration with Leonardo: Carolina Midnight Pen
The second collaboration with Leonardo was called Carolina Midnight. This time, we offered more options and treated it like a limited-time sale open during a weekend. Around 300 people ordered the pens, which featured a dark blue pearlescent resin with gray accents. We also had some leftover material and made 15 tricked-out Memento Zero Grande pens. The experience showed that I could sell higher-priced pens as well.
Collaboration with Franklin-Christoph
For the latest collaboration, I worked with Franklin-Christoph using a custom Brooks resin from a previous project. We created a unique pen with this resin, and I was pleased with the outcome. It was another positive experience, and I have more collaborations planned for the future.
Exploring Unique Woodworking and Artisans
The podcast episode discusses the discovery of a unique woodworker and the importance of featuring individual artisans who create exceptional work. The host shares their surprise at the underperformance of a video featuring this woodworker, but highlights the positive response from viewers who praised the artist's craftsmanship. The discussion delves into the appeal of discovering new talents and the unpredictability of video success, reflecting on other instances where expected viewer engagement did not align with actual reception.
Fun and Random Videos: Pin Company Battle Royale and Tom Cruise's Cake
The podcast episode explores the production of fun and random videos, such as the Pin Company Battle Royale and a potential video about Tom Cruise's coconut bunt cake tradition. The host explains how these spontaneous video concepts bring personal enjoyment and entertainment to both the creator and viewers. The discussion emphasizes the importance of having fun and allowing for creative diversions in content creation, even if it veers away from the main theme of the channel.
