The Overcrowding and Conditions of Stockade 7

Stockade 7 became a symbol of the oppression faced by Martians, housing approximately 250 prisoners in single-occupancy cells that were overcrowded five to a cell. Conditions grew increasingly dire as security services ramped up their efforts to deport those who had been annulled, particularly following the urgent orders from the new Director, Ava Zhang. This atmosphere of desperation was compounded by the inadequate staffing of just 20 guards to monitor so many prisoners. The pressing circumstances led to an explosive situation when the continually malfunctioning latrines prompted a violent confrontation between the inmates and security personnel.
