In today’s episode we continue our conversation from last episode. So if you haven’t listened to that, you’ll want to do that before listening to this one. In this conversation, we take a look at one of the most powerful rulers of the ancient world. Before Greece and Persia, Babylon was the powerhouse of the Middle East. It’s ruler in the 6th century BC was Nebuchadnezzar (the guy responsible for the famous Fiery Furnace story). What you might not know about him is that it looks like he also wrote a chapter of the Bible! (Daniel 4) Whether he wrote it or someone else, this is one of the few chapters in the Bible that is written from a first person perspective, and this one is fascinating. We see the perspective of one of the greatest rulers (who was also very self-absorbed, arrogant, and violent), and his encounter with God. The ending is not one that you would expect and gives great perspective on what it means to be human. At the end of the podcast, I recommend a great life-coaching source for getting practical about how we as individuals can be the most fulfilled and have the greatest impact in our journey to love others.
