I want my food to be CHEAP, HEALTHY, and DELICIOUS. But more and more it seems like I can only have one of the two....
- Taco Bell is cheap and delicious.... but I wake up covered in severed heads and burrito wrappers, having gained 22 lbs in one day
- Plain oatmeal is cheap and healthy.... but is actually what horses eat
- Meal prep food delivery services are healthy and delicious BUT COST SO MUCH DAMNNN MONEY
So what do we do?
We cook our own food.
Today, inspired by TosTinMan EasyCooking we have a recipe that satisfies all three. CROCKPOT CHICKEN AND RICEEEEEEEEEE
Ingredients:
- 6 cups of rice
- 6 cups of water
- 2 bags of frozen mixed vegetables (OR WHATVER)
- 2 bouillon cubes
- some onion powder
- some black pepper
- shit loads of salt
- some garlic powder
- 4-5lb pork loin (OR CHICKEN THIGHS) covered in Famous Daves Steak and Burger Rub (so fucking good)
Directions:
- put rice, water, vegetables, bouillon cubes, onion powder, black pepper, salt, garlic powder into the crockpot
- cover the pork loin (OR CHICKEN THIGHS) with Famous Daves seasoning
- Put pork on top of other shit
- Set timer on HIGH for 3.5 hours (I got it wrong in the podcast and said 2.5... it is 3.5!)
- That is legit all you need to do- maybe mix it up sometime during the cooking
- Feast
