Today I welcome Alex Shahidi onto the show, Managing Partner & Co-Chief Investment Officer at Evoke Advisors. Alex has over 22 years of experience as an investment consultant managing multibillion-dollar portfolios. At Evoke Alex focuses on advising large pension funds, foundations, endowments, and ultra-high-net-worth families, the firm currently advises over $20 Bn in assets.

Alex’s career began at Merill Lynch where he worked for 15 years and achieved the coveted position of managing director, leading one of the firm’s largest institutional consulting groups advising on more than $10bn in assets.

Alex is also a talented writer in 2014 he published ‘a balanced Asset Allocation: How to Profit in Any Economic Climate’ and recently In 2021 he launched his second book titled ‘Risk Parity: How to Invest for All Market Environments’.

In this interview, we discuss the 3 macro scenarios that could play out in this economic environment, has inflation peaked and how to construct a balanced portfolio something that’s particularly interesting given the situation we’re currently in.
