Victor Hovland has defied conventional wisdom by using a longer driver, a Ping G425 LST at 45 and three-quarters inches, instead of going for a shorter length for accuracy. He led the field in driving accuracy during recent tournaments, proving that longer drivers can still be accurate. The decision to go longer came after testing different lengths and finding that the 425 LST performed well for him. The longer length increased his ball speed, launch angle, and spin. While it may have increased his right miss, the overall gain in yardage made it a worthwhile choice.
