Houston is known as the largest city in Texas, both in terms of population and overall sprawl. It is infamous for its bad traffic and high levels of obesity. The Budweiser distribution warehouse in Houston gives the city a distinct smell. The now-closed AstroWorld amusement park was once a popular destination for teenagers and families. Taqueria Arandas is a local favorite for food, particularly the calorie-packed kolaches. Within the 610 loop, downtown Houston is filled with white-collar workers in the oil and gas industry, while Montrose is known for its Greek eateries and vibrant LGBTQ+ scene. The neighborhoods outside the 610 loop are often dangerous and impoverished, earning a reputation as ghettos. The suburbs of Houston are home to gated communities and predominantly white residents.
