Harold Holzer won the Lincoln Prize for his book Lincoln and the Power of the Press. Harold has a new book entitled Brought Forth on This Continent: Abraham Lincoln and American Immigration. I want to learn from Harold why Lincoln encouraged more Europeans to move to the US. Many were Catholics from Ireland and Germany who were generally viewed as potential Democratic voters.
