Higher education’s challenges in relation to enrollment cliff and funding were put on hold because of the federal stimulus funding. However, these still remain looming issues for higher education in the future.

Many higher education institutions returned to traditional classroom offerings in 2021, although they continued to find ways to incorporate online learning as part of their offerings.

Moving into 2022, institutions will increasingly need to find ways to innovate. However, accreditors and faculty members may impede progress in this area.
