We were delighted to meet and interview their dynamic and energetic Minister of Higher education, Science and Innovation Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir. I'm born in Reykjavík 30th November 1990. I was appointed Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation in Iceland in November 2021. Before I was the Minister of Justice in the years 2019-2021 and became the youngest Minister of Justice ever appointed and youngest minister in the history of the Icelandic republic. I've a master's and BA degree from the University of Iceland in law.
At 24 years I was elected the secretary of the Independence Party. The role is one of the three leadership roles in my party. A year later I was elected to parliament and became the chairman of the Judicial Affairs and Education Committee, NATO PA and later chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee and IPU.
We flew to Iceland on Air Iceland as a guest of Business Iceland.
